[vdr] MaxVideoFileSize

Apart from FAT16/FAT32/ISO 9660 compatibility reasons, are there any
benefits to keeping MaxVideoFileSize for recordings at = 2GB?

I was considering setting it to something arbitrarily larger such as
16GB but just wondered if I was causing any unexpected side effects.

Not from within core VDR. If you want to transfer or post-process video
files 2G, you should make sure that everything in the processing
pipeline can handle large files. However, you can always split a
recording later by changing the file size and do another editing run
within VDR.

The only exception for VDR is the use of the hard link cutter patch:
This patch depends on recordings to be in many small files, to gain
speed on editing.
