I have tried your how-to but I could not start the vdr. Here is the syslog:

VDRPLUGINS="-P xineliboutput"
with
VDRPLUGINS=""
in $HOME/vdr-1.7.15/runvdr
I had a quick look at the Arabic menus

What do you mean? Do you want to be subscribed to the list? If that is
true, please take a look at [1] which is also present in the
