Thanks. That's the wiki item named 'Manual' that misled me. Probably
worth merging the MANUAL with the man page (which stands for manual
anyways)?

Hi,
Add you primary dvb device number in the /etc/vdr/setup.conf
In the line "PrimaryDVB = 3"
If you have 2 dvb cards you should add number 3 etc.
You must shut down the vdr before editing that file.
