patch cycle coming up. Let's see how long it takes this time before a proof-of-concept
exploit hits the web ...

The 190 during a duplication means that there is nothing to
do.
Check your "number of copies" setting on your master.
Default is 2.
You can't duplicate past the number of
copies.

Hi
Guys
A bit of a pain
really, but can I ask how I go about getting the "physical" Netbackup books for
Windows 2000/2003 ?
I know there are PDF
documents, but I simply cannot read them and stare at the screen. Printing them
is not really an option either :(
If anyone
Ping is not required..

Title: Exchange backups agent question
Hi Greg.
From what I have seen, it backs up the entire DB. I had a
customer who have expanded his db by 50GB by mistake and he had to run a tool on
the exchange to reduce the size. Until he did that, NBU backed up all the
data.

One of the classic problems with DLT drives (not SDLT) is
that most contamination is environmental and is drawn into the drive by
theforced air cooling system in the case or library. The leader that pulls
the tape through the tape path to the take-up reel gets as dirty as the head and
tape

Hi.
Is the last patch you have added FP6?
If so, FP6 is an install patch (not actual upgrade) and
does not touch the pack.summary file. When you upgrade a master server you have
to install also the CLT patch. So to go to FP9 you have to run the following
patches:
Title: Exchange backups agent question
Ok thanks that is what I was looking for. Our exchange
teams compress the db each night and they were wondering if that will help with
the time it takes to backup and I was not sure if the agent backed up0 just the
data or the entire db.

So, was just curious if Aptare's tool is still top dog? Has Veritas'

Veritas didn't revamp Advanced Reporter - they
Ive been corrected, this is how it

So essentially this would be
what we want, by using differential-incrementals in between cumulatives we will
save tapes. By using cumulative's we don't have to worry about restoring
1-90 backups.
The benefit of this is we
only have to restore

can't you do FULLs more often?
If
it's a backup window thing, then it might be a good candidate for Synthetic
