I am getting very confused over image duplication via the Vault option.
My question is this, we duplicate are full backups on a daily basis
after the backup schedule has finished each night. This in it's self
works fine except if a backup image finishes with a status code 1

I'm trying to decide whether to go with MP5, but after reading about one
person's possible catalog corruption after installing it, I'm a little
leery. Has anyone else experienced any problems after Installing MP5,
or is this catalog corruption thing likely an isolated incident? I know

v5.1MP5 has solved a number of problems for us ... by far the best of
the v5.1 MPs, but I'm sure every installation has their hot spots.
The biggest win for us was elimination of phantom tape positioning
errors that plagued us starting, I think, at MP3.

A status code of 0 or 1 results in a good backup image and the image
descriptions are saved in the NetBackup catalog.
Vault duplicates images according to the filters you define, not any
status code.

Interesting. I can only speak to my experience which is that you only
enter an SSO license key for each *server* using SSO -- not for each
tape drive, and when we purchased the SSO licenses we only purchased per
server.

We are backup um 300 Gb Oracle 9.2 databases using 9 channels
(multiplexing) to one SDLT320 at 250 Mbits/sec (network speed)
This are running ok, the problem is when we are restoring to another
host (alternate restore) the jobs simply stops whitout any error message.
We are in the process of purchasing 70 Unix servers for a large project.
Right now we have a dozen RS/6000's; we perform a nightly mksysb to 8MM
tape on each server.The combination of the 8MM backups and Veritas
restores worked in the past; worked fine when DR testing at Sungard.

I have used mksysb at DR site in the past successfully and will be using
again this month for the upcoming DR test .
I would stick to it - very reliable for DR.

I've just installed NB-4.5MP6 on a CentOS-4.3 machine (client) and it's
returning a warning about errno or h_errno.
It's the only centos client i have .. i tried reinstalling NB but it
didn't solve the problem.

I'd be surprised if this wasn't possible but I can't recall ever actually
seeing it done. Is it possible to duplicate an RMAN image (with bpduplicate or
vault) and successfully restore from the second copy? If I remember correctly
the first tape barcode in the backup set is sent back
