What you have been told is 100% normal
practice. I have zillion of environments with policies mixing full/inc

Right, fire up Shared Drive Wizard
and change one drive from HCART3 to HCART2.
Then create storage unit of type HCART2
for all SSO media servers in question.
You're ready to restore. I've tested
it even with LTO1 - LTO3.
Later you can change drive back to HCART3
(but you can leave storage units

Hi All
I would like to automate the ejection of media from an Quantum ATL (TLD)

is the media isn't taken out of the MAP within 30 minutes then the robot
will re-inject the media.
The SAG suggests this timeout is robot

since it can restore to alternate hardware without any weird and
wonderful driver changes. The instructions for a

The thing I really like about Aptare is it's *real time* capability. As
soon as a backup ends, the information is pushed from the master server
to the Aptare server. Nice! I found Bocada to be seriously wanting when

For our MS SQL databases we have included a final step in the hourly
transaction log dump which triggers a NetBackup job that performs a
differential backup to a disk staged area on the backup server. The
staged area then gets backed up to tape every three hours.

Title: Aptare vs. NB 6.0 NOM reporting
I found NOM to be painfully buggy, and its
reporting structure to be a little inflexible. That said, it does store
everything in a SQL database, so with a little bit of work, you can get access
to that and use any sql reporting software you like.

compare against and have no way to actually do an incremental
backup.
Correct enough, in the context of explaining NetBackup to the neophyte

Nothing wrong with this :-) If an Incremental was in a seperate
