Tom,
The first thing I was going to say is the NOexpire file shouldn't be in netbackup/bin/
But I'm wrong - that's where it should be!
What version and patch level of NBU are you running in the lab? If it's before 5.1 MP4, you may have suffered from this ...

Simon,
If you want to expire an image on disk, it is the same procedure as on tape.
Images written to disk are copy #1, so find the image name and specify copy #1.
You can query the db to find the actual path and copy number. For testing

Cheers Peter, this was some of my thoughts as well.
In general, when using DSSU could you give me an idea of how much data is
stored on there and when you write to tape?
For example I am thinking of doing a 2TB Disk Backup, and then writing to
tape 3 days later when its quiet.

Not sure how to do it in bpdbjobs, but you can get the timestamp by
looking in /usr/openv/netbackup/db/images/client_name_here/STREAMS.

The DSSU's nature is to keep going till the drive/volume is FULL.
You'll get a lot of failed jobs as the disk approaches full, if you have
multiple DSSUs configured on the same drive.
Each DSSU tries to manage it's disk utilization separately.
6.0 or is it 6.5, promised size configurable DSSUs
Steve,
Did you try this fix ?
Thanx

Hi All,
We have a strange problem,
client = Windows 2003 x64
Netbackup = 5.1 MP1
We get error 13 while backing up the FS on the server, the backup does
not even begin, it just waits for first write and then times out. The
beauty is that the SQL backups are working notrmally.
Any suggestions
Simon,
It worked great. The backup starts within 3 min now. Thanks for all of
your help.
