Hi Anas
Well for Windows, there is no file extension. Just a file called ALTPATH.
Here is a suggestive use for it...

I recently added a Solaris 10 media server/robot host to our existing
Solaris 9 master medias environment. If I recall, didn't really have
any problems. NBU 5.1 MP6. Not SSO (though we use SSO on the other
media servers).
You may need to run /usr/sbin/inetconv to convert the /etc/services

I was running an NDMP job this weekend that ran over
one tape. The job attempted to write to another tape
that happened to be write protected. At that point,
the job failed with an error 84 and restarted. I had

All,
I'm trying to come up with a way to access the NOM 6.0 MP4 database via
query so I can setup my own reporting. Unfortunately NOM's reporting is
pretty sad, or as the Symantec support guy said not very deep. I
inquired about a live way to access the SQL data, but got told by
support:
I know the recommended way is to have the library do hardware based
cleaning when it needs it, but I also know that netbackup can clean the
drives as well. What are the pros and cons to having netbackup do the
drive cleanings? I am seeing allot of alerts in our logs about no
cleaning tape
I know this is not a SUN forum, but IMHO
/etc/system was much easier to manage. SUN has made
this more complicated, tuning and services are 2 new
things in Solaris 10, that I hate. (till i learn
these)

We are thinking of getting the NB 6.0 MSSQL agent.
Can you restore all the MSSQL DB's without SQL running?
Or does MSSQL have to be running with master.mdf
Thanks

Hi Folks,
As I already said, I had to follow the guide where it says, how manually to
create sg devices and the actual sg.conf file including the tape drives or
targets/luns. That one was apparently missing in my case. Here are the
actual steps, if somebody needs them:
1) Install NetBackup 5.1
Greetings,
I know things like this have been discussed but I haven't found a way to
get what I want from the command line. It looks like I need a little
bit of output from bpdbjobs -all_columns, using the lastbackup column
definition in the bp.conf file, and part of the bpcatlist command. I
Hey guys
I have a problem where a SAN split that keeps going from active to
re-queueing in the Activity Monitor. The drives needed for the backup
mounted fine on the server but because of the unusual activity I
attempted to cancel the jobs but that did not work. I even cancelled the
split and
