Funny you should mention the excludes approach. That is exactly what we are planning to do. Too bad you can't do from the GUI like you can on Windows clients. -- Carl Stehman Distributed Services Pepcoholdings, Inc. 701 Ninth St NW Washington DC 20068 202-331-6619

We had the same problem with our environment. AIX Master, AIX Media server and Windows Media server. All running NBU 6.5.2A. We have installed about 5 binaries and this problem seems to have been resolved. I would contact Veritas support and get the latest binaries for 6.5.2A. As a work

I'm holding at 6.5.1a and can do so because my environment is different, but I had similar issues. Even after continuous run's of vmdareq the problem persisted. When checking Devices/Media Servers I noticed the Status of Active for Disk only, not Active for Tape and Disk. Our work around

I've seen the below issue mentioned by Scott as well. Issuing that command will resolve the problem. I'm not sure why this happens, but all I got out of support was that the server's state was never updated properly. Rusty Major, MCSE, BCFP, VCS ▪ Sr. Storage Engineer ▪ SunGard Availability

You can use 'vmoprcmd -activate_host -h media_server_name' to set media server active for tapes. It takes around a minute after issuing this command to actually see the drives available. Stas. On Thu, 13 Nov 2008, Scott Jacobson wrote: Date: Thu, 13 Nov 2008 13:09:22 -0700 From: Scott

Hi Chris. Which version of NetBackup are you using? NetBackup 6.5.x no longer needs the pre and post processing scripts or VMware Integration Module. If you are using NetBackup 6.0 or earlier I have an implementation doc that might be of help to you. Let me know and I will forward it to you.
