You will need the initial CD as a base, then you can get the updates from
the Symantec/Veritas website.
If you start with the initial 6.5 release you can get the 6.5.3 update fom
the website. I am not sure how far back
they go.

Hi!
We have one master server and 4 media servers.
Master server and two of the media servers are 6.5.3 and other two media

We use lto4 tapes to take backup through those two media servers that are 6.5.3

Looks like you need to copy up the copy of Solaris your going to be restroring
to this boot server.
Once you get to that step, point it at the Solaris install you copied up to the
server.
You have to do the saem thing with windows etc...it has to have a copy of the
OS in the SRT you create.
Did you ever try the NBU 6.5.3.1 client?

In order to discover the new target hardware, you will have to have the new MAC
address, IP, subnet mask and default gateway. It is absolutely required.
Once you have that info correct, assuming your master serv can talk to that
subnet you should be able to do a discovery of the new hardware.
Did you install a the boot server software on the master server?
You need to make sure your solaris media serv can talk to the master man..

1 boot server for each different OS you will be trying to restore with BMR.
We have dedicated Windows boot servers, and shared Unix server..Depends on how
loaded down they are, but it really doesn't matter long as they can talk to the
master with no issues.

Am I correct in saying that vault can only vault backups and not

being connected via HBA to our RHEL 3 Master Server (running the 2.4 kernel).
I have verified that the OS sees the card and drives but I can't get them
installed in NBU. I'm guessing that I'm missing a SAN license,

You don't need a SAN/SSO license unless you are sharing the devices between
hosts.
Have you looked through the device config guide and checked for the
appropriate pass-through devices?

What's sgscan showing? You may need to go through the whole sg driver
installation process so the drives are visible to NBU.
