What about using bperror, e.g.
Sudo bperror -U -backstat -d 5/21/2009 18:00:00 -e 5/22/2009 18:00:00
I then use sort and egrep to list in alphabetical order and to remove the
information not wanted.

All,
Just trying to get a policy within NBU setup, and having some
difficulties getting it setup. Currently I have the following
setup:
Policy = XX_VMTest01
Policy Type = MS-Windows-NT
Schedule = Full
Client is the NBU Media Server (also the master)

You are correct. When using client side encryption all the repeatable
patterns hardware compression works off of is removed therefore there is
nothing for the drive to compress. So you can end up using more tape
space. The only solution is to disable hardware compression or also
enabled client
Yoiu are correct that encrypted data is not compressible. Netbackups
client based encrytion knows this and will apply compression first
then encryption. If you use client based encryption, then client
based compression is your onlu option. Hardware compression on your

I am trying to get ndmp running to our NetApp. (everything is working on ndmp
to Celera) I have fc zoned the Scaler library to the NetApp and the Scaler
seems to be happy enough with zones and lun mapping. However the NetApp is not
playing nice. I have been through the Ontap 7.3 tape backup
On the NetApp, do the tape drives show up with the sysconfig command?
If not, you may need to offline/online the specific FC Host Adapter. See the
fcadmin command after priv set advanced.

Hi Travis
Are you sure about the fact that NBU will automatically compress before

Bryan,
Way way cool. I did remember to lun map the i2000. We had also tried unplugging
the fibre. However the key was the two storage commands you listed. Once I ran
those the i2000 came to life for the Netapp.
By the by, when I was looking through the KB's at Ontap I found one that

I took the NetBackup 6.5 for Unix class a few months back and I seem to
remember hearing my instructor mention that Symantec has some type of

NetBackup that allows you to administer you IM tapes. Can anyone confirm
this? If
I'm trying to set up NOM on a Windows server.
I followed the recommendations in the ICS documents to set up a root

servers for Windows and UNIX.
NOM at 6.5.x allows you to install the VxAT as 'typical', which is
