We get a status 6, especially for logs, but if there is nothing there,
we get the same status code.
DBA Team verify this, but enable some logging on the client and talk to
the DBA's to be sure :-)

To Rule NetBackup out, you would have to rule any other services that
could be running (ie: AV especially if its configured to scan the
Exchange Stores and logs - Bad idea by the way!).
How large is the store that was dismounted? I did see a problem on Ex2k
itself some time ago, very similar with
Guys I'm running (Or will be after upgrading from 5.0mp7) Netbackup
6.5.4 Master server with MS Encryption Option installed.
I know i can set the encryption per policy and we have requirement to
backup 2 machines with encryption and not the rest.
My question is can encrypted and none encrypted
I'm sure it says in the manual that you can mix MSEO and non-MSEO on a
single tape. You may think that is going to create a problem as you'll
have to treat all your media as if it contains encrypted data. I know the
idea of encryption is so you don't lose data when you lose media, but it's
anyone brave enough to install it yet? i know it's a service pack but i'm
always getting emails from Symantec about how your backups are gone if you do
so and so

I just checked my nightly runs and it all looks normal (all blue except for
some usual suspects that give me problems regardless of version).

I have been trying to read the docs and no where can I find where it
says the DFSR issue has been fixed.
I can find that it says it is suppose to be fixed in 6.5.4 but it never
says it has.
Has anybody found anything that says it has or has not?

The DFSR issue being you need to stop DFSR before backing up the FS and
then start it again to resume replication?

Yes, sorry I did not qualify that - it has just been such a pain in my
side that I just call it the DFS ISSUE.
And right now it is the ONLY reason I need to upgrade ( but the new

On windows servers you can use DFSR ( a windows thing - serverA drive F
is always sending its changes up to serverB drive N. We use it for
remote sites where we cannot backup, it sends its files to us where I
can backup)
The thing is in version 5 you could backup just fine.

Dave,
In addition to the comments Mr. Brown has been kind enough to provide, I'd
like add a note about multiplexing.
See page 84 of the MSEO Admin Guide.
The note is applicable to multiplexing encrypted and non-encrypted backups
together.
