Hail Mary pass here. I've successfully had things configured with Blade 1500s, but with Blade 1000s I seem to be having a problem The IPStor client installs successfully and can register that there are devices assigned at the VTL server, but the OS does not seem to pick up on the hardware.

Are you referring to NDMP backups? Variables set, such as set HIST=no or set SNAPSURE=y are configured in the backup policy file list and just passed along to the NDMP device. It's up to the NDMP device to understand them and use them. You need to refer to the documentation for the NDMP
