I am using netbackup 5.1 with rman for my oracle database backups.OS is
Solaris 9 with oracle 9.2.0.7 and I am unable to get a speed more than
50MB/sec. For FS backup this speed is 100MB/sec but for rman I get

time to take the backup of 2TB is about 12 hours as its over the LAN
and I am interested to shift it over the SAN bakcup.

I have a very much confusing issue. We have a SF6900 with 2TB storage
from HDS running Solaris 9.
Every time I take backup of the filesystem or database I am getting an
average speed of 50MB/sec.But over the restore on the same box I am
getting a very good speed around 80MB/sec.

One of my rman backup fails without any error in the rman logs. for
rman it looks that the backup is successfulll but netbackup gui show
that the backup got failed.

I am duplicating some backup for off site and want to change the
retention. Is there a way that i can do it by using the bpduplicate
.I am not interested to do it by using the bar code neither by
using the backup job idmay i have some switch of bpduplicate while
doing the duplicate.
we are going to replace our 3*LTO2 drives with 6*LTO3 drives in L100
library. How much faster our backups will be?
