At a remote site when the our local staff introduces new tape volumes
into the robot the media id generated is not what is expected. When I
do the robot inventory from the master server the media id generation
rules are set and the media id created is what is expected.We are

You should be able to read(restore) from the 320's with either drive
type.
The 600 drives will not write(backup) to a 320 tape.
Where is diversity when you need it !
Check the media type of volume 007082 and be sure one of your available
drives is also this media type.

running redhat and oracle.
So to use rman backups with veritas netbackup I'm assuming we only need

At a remote site we have mixed media types of dlt and dlt3 for the tapes
all of which are sdlt(600 gig) tapes.
The media density for the storage group was incorrectly set to dlt at
the time we went from standalone drives to this robot . This is a twin
drive sun branded robot.
