Is there a way to manually down tld0, thus forcing the library drives to AVR?
I tried upoprbyname and that still put the drives in TLD.
Today is not a good day. The robot is dead, and the vendor is having
logistics issues which means I have been waiting on a replacement part for 9
hours now.
To answer my own question: kill tldd

Subject: Re: [Veritas-bu] Catalog performence to tape
I have gone a few rounds with this issue myself, and here is what I
learned:
- Catalog disk needs read performance, not write.
- RAID-5 is faster than
to disable reserve / release if doing dynamic
drive sharing in ARCServe and CommVault, I'm wondering if NBU would be
similar?
EMC and the robot vendor both say to turn SCSI reserve / release off,
Veritas says to leave it on; anyone out there with any experience with
these issues?
thanks.

and
one for /opt/openv/.
The V240 has MORE than ample PCI IO for that amount of data, but if the
T2000 is cheaper, I'd go that way.
If/when you eventually need more performance for the catalog, you can
put it on FC-SAN disk, or an external FC array.

Looks like Remote NDMP is not supported on Linux. I just looked at the
compatibility matrix and all the linux NDMP patches, nowhere does it say
support was added for linux server. Someone please correct me if I'm
wrong.
