Hi Jeff,
Thanks for sharing your experience on your enviornment.
I might need to clarify further, this method of backup does work but i guess it
varies from different environment setup.
From your main reason that you stated, i've no doubt about what benefit it
brings but i'm not convince this
Hi Guys,
Anyone currently deploy any form of backup using the mirror copy from the SAN

IMO, such setup should remain as fast backup and recovery for adhoc, emergency

Hi,
I'm still in the mist of a backup design to use either a DSU or a DSSU target
for my interim backups.
Would like to know if there's a limitation in the number of streams if the
storage unit is a DSU? I also assume multiplexing will not be a issue if the
target is DSU right?

Hi,
Anyone using vmchange to eject tapes?
I'm using the command below, it manage to eject the tapes BUT the command didnt
end properly as the command spawn another tldcd process but didnt go off after
eject. I can only kill that spawned process in order to do a tape inventory.
Anyone know
I'm still using NBU6.0, upgrading to 6.5.2 soon
So you command below
vmchange -e -sec 1 -res -m $MEDIAID -mt $TYPE -rt tld -rn $LIBR -rh
MASTERSERVER -v $GRP -rc1 $SLOT
You are ejecting one tape at a time i'm i right? If that is so, you need to do
a vmquery to find the mediaid slot no before
Thanks guys, i think the -w option is what i needed. Without this, the NBU will
just eject the tape without proper end process of the tldcd.
Thanks alot for the contributions
