Clem, In 6.0 on Solaris, I have seen when the logs fill up that sometimes some defunct emm database processes stay out there that don't necessarily show with a bpps -a. I would suggest bringing down all NetBackup services and then do a ps -ef and look for any netbackup, emm, or defunct

1) Older versions of the NBU Oracle agent used to require you to bounce the database to relink the binaries..that is not the case anymore. You should not have to bounce Oracle to upgrade the system. 2) Yes, PBX does need to be installed on all media servers as well as the master server.

I was involved with the beta program. The release was pretty stable, even in beta, and has some really cool features. The article does not even talk about things like the lifecycle management capabilities, shared storage for disk and the SAN client. I would not hesitate to move to 6.5.

6.0 Was a MAJOR rewrite of code that was long overdue. I think issues were to be expected. 6.5 is a regular enhancement release so I don't expect you will see the same challenges as going to 6.0. I think part of the delay in releasing the code was to make sure it was as stable as it could

Make sure that your Exchange server client is running at the exact same level as the Master/Media server. You could have problems with your Exchange restores if they are not at the same level. I would suggest that any server that has a database agent is at the same level as the Master/Media
