At the beginning of the month we switched from robotic self cleaning to NetBackup tape alert based cleaning. This appears to be working fine in that when the robot issues an alert saying a tape drive needs cleaning NetBackup is mounting a cleaning tape and showing success on the cleaning.

It sounds like you want to keep using the existing media in your library for backups moving forward? in which case this won't work. If you are happy to consign all of your existing media to a purgatory volume pool, this will work... It's the media database that causes the professional services
