Hello Folks,
Apparently I was mistaken in believing that NetBackup Server was
avalible for Solaris 10 X86, it seems that only X86 client is supported,
even in 6.x. I tried to find out what the plan is by calling support
(who in turn called Sales) but the answer was We don't have that
Umm, I am using the normal PC Client software. Maybe I don't
understand what you mean.
I am using the Veritas supplied client. I am backing up using the
all_local_drives directive, or trying to in the case of the failing server.

When you install the NBU Client software, it SHOULD have automatically seen
it was a cluster and asked if you want to install the software as part of a
cluster on just on the single client computer.

I don't have any documentation about
it.
When TrendMicro was implemented, I started getting a lot of
"Status 1" errors at some places where I had never gotten them. I started
chasing them down. I notified the admins of some Wintel boxes about some
files (I did not know who

No
reason you can't back it up and restore it if you stop the service while you're
running the backup.

I have 2 interrelated questions:

in independent policies, but are often running concurrently, for at
least part of their active
Take a look at session_notify, this run when all the scheduled jobs are
complete. I don't know if it runs before, after or concurrently with the
catalog backup. You could always set catalog backup to manual and the run
bpbackupdb from the session_notify script.

No, that option was not available. I personally have never seen that
question asked. I have installed on regular Win2k3 Exchange and SQL

For the x64 client, the release notes specifically say that the install

I'm trying to back up a directory on a Linux client server (let's call
the directory /mnt/devices/); this directory contains links to several
autofs mounted devices. I've set up a policy to back up the entire
directory, but I've run into an odd problem. It seems that the backup

Ok I
got the script to work, which is great - only one problem I see - the client has
multiple paritions and is being backed up using ALL LOCAL DRIVES - although the
services stop fine, it appears that as soon as one of the stream finishes, the
services are bought
