Hi there,
my current customer owns a large SAP environment backed up
with VERITAS NetBackup 5.1 SAP Database Extensions.
I've created some scripts for backing up the database and
archive log files. Problem with the scripts is that whenever
a warning is created from the brbackup / brarchive
I have the following in my exlude list for a windows client :-
C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin\*.lock
C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin\bprd.d\*.lock
C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin\bpsched.d\*.lock
C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Volmgr\misc\*
c:\Temp
c:\*\*\Local Settings\Temp

Yes you can do it
The name of the server is
critical for licensing (the var folder) and at the images. If you change the
name and replace the var folder with the old one netbackup will play.

Wonder
if it would be worth treating this as a DR scenario, and do a BPRecover method,
which essentially puts Netbackup back to its last known catalogue and image
state ?

Simon,
That is how I did it a few times, the other times when I was just moving from smaller to bigger disks, I used a snapshot in Solaris to copy the system from the smaller disks to the bigger disks.

Hi all
Our environment is netbackup 5.1 mp3
LTO2 tapes drives
End to end GIGE network
Netwrare 6 sp4
Our backups are running at 1.5 - 3.5 mb/sec
Are there any performance parameters that we can set in Netware to help speed things up ?
I am not a NetWare person so be gentle :)

What are the requirements for sharing tape drives using SSO between servers on
both sides of a firewall?
Should I just NOT do it?
Should I have at a minimum of 2 groups?
One group of tape drives to be shared between the local media servers and the
master server?
Plus one group of tape drives to
Bob,
We have a firewall set up here and Veritas architected the

Master on the inside, connected to a SAN with a single Tape Library
Media on outside, connected to the same SAN and the same Tape Library
Both servers share the drives in the Library.
Our setup is
