Ok, what about taking a Catalog Backup from your current master and
recovering to your NEW Master with a different Server name?
Is that possible?

It is for 4.5 - but could be used as a

Remember, changing buffer settings, could potentially cause delays

Dudes is there any way of saying how much space is left on a particular
tape? I have had a look around but am a bit lost.

Doesn't the media list report report something like this or bpmedialist
perhaps?
Surely there is something in the GUI that helps :-)

No, but there are technotes about how to restore from an NDMP tape to a
non-NDMP system. I seem to recall it involves skipping over the first
file on the tape. I think you would also need to think carefully about
the format the tape is written in. Celerra defaults to 'dump', if you

Greetings,
Attached is a tarball containing a perl script I wrote to look for
backups that were overdue. It focuses mainly on full backups and
knows only about frequency based scheduling, so it is not completely
generalized, but it should be of help if someone needs to check up on
the scheduler.

Title: VSP question
Nb 5.0 mp6 Solaris 9
If VSP is turned off / disabled for a client, will netbackup still back up open files and open registry keys? A co worker is telling me that with VSP off open files will still be backed up. And the way to tell is to run a backup with VSP turned off
From what I understand, you could set it to 8mm, 1/4 or optical disk
and it wouldn't make a difference.
Seems to just be an identifier.

Hi All,
I have a question. Is the NetBackup adjusting density according to the
drive type? I mean if I set drive density to hcart2 for hcart3 drive,
what would the capacity for that media? Is it like hcart3 regardless of
