restore in NDMP mode on a emc2 NS700 ( Clariion Filer ).

Hi all,
I`am new to solaris and wonder if anyone know if it's possible to trunk/team
several network cards under solaris? If so, how do you do it?
Thanks and regards,

Does anyone have a similar setup?
Separate backup network from clients in one location to media servers in same
location, but the master server can only see the clients and media servers on
the public network. This causes 41 errors, we have come up with different work
arounds but all of them
I wish that the setup you describe would work, but it CAN'T.
The backup job will assign a port on the NIC that receives the request. If
the master (10.1.1.1) sends the request to systemA (10.1.1.10) to use the
storage unit on mediaA (10.1.1.2), the data will travel over the NIC that

Copying catalog from Win OS to Solaris:
- First of all take a proper catalog backup
- Stop NetBackup on source machine (Win OS)
- Decompress catalog (if needed) ( bpimage -decompress -allclients)
- Convert to ASCII (if needed) (cat_convert b2a) (I believe on Win OS this is
already ASCII)
- Stop
Sun has a software package to do this. It's Sun Trunking 1.3, and you
can see it at http://www.sun.com/products/networking/ethernet/suntrunking
...
It is free for Solaris 10 (SPARC x86), and costs $995 for Solaris 8 9.

With NBU 6.0 I didn't try, but until the version 5.1 I know that is
possible, you need only be careful with clients with the same name in both
masters and change the configuration in all clients to point to new mergerd
master.

Why can't the master and media servers be on both networks each.
Set the client name in the policy to go over the front network
for those systems that only have one NIC, and set the name to
one that is on the backup network for those hosts that have
Netbackup 5.0mp4 on Solaris 9 attached to an L700.
I have a media manager which is connected to shared drives running SSO
on an L700. All drives are up and visible.
I kick a job off and it finds tapes, puts them in and start to position
them but then times out and gives status 52.
I have tried

Hello,
Can anyone confirm that it is my understanding that AD is backed up as part
of the system state or shadow
copy components directive, since it's part of the registry. Or do I need to
create a separate policy? agent?

Hi,
I have another good one. When I run the make_scsi_dev command, (which
also runs when you install the server software) on a Linux server
running Susi 9, my system crashes. Has anyone run into the problem
before.

You need to put a force restore entry in the bp.conf on the onsite server.
FORCE_RESTORE_MEDIA_SERVER = offshore-server onsite-server
You will have to cycle the netbackup software.

Active Directory is actually both in the registry of a domain
controller and in several files on the disk, most notably -
%SystemRoot%\ntds\NTDS.DIT. Suffice to say, you would probably never
restore just the registry to a domain controller, you would restore the
entire system in AD Restore Mode
Hi Michael,
My problem is no error et all. And still the DBA seems to report that the

backup also fails. EOF file error @ DR restore. Initially we thgt its
