Hi,
We had 129 errors on DSSU until I found out that During Full catalog BU and
Staging no clean up can be performed !
So
important/imperative to
AVOID having active at the same time the Catalog backup and/or the
DSSU staging
AND a backup to a DSSU.
I noticed that during a BU
Hello to all,
We have upgraded our domain in version 6.0 MP4. Since this day, the java
console (in 6.0 MP4) take approximately 10 minutes to list all media in volDB.
Our configuration is :
1 Master 6.0 MP4
7 Media Server in 6.0 MP4
20 Media Server 5.1 MPX
A Centricstor Virtual Tape
It takes a while to list ~700 tapes here, I can only imagine 60,000, wow--
perhaps list your hardware configuration of your master/media servers, I
think 60,000 may just take awhile to list (for the first time you open the
lient, subsequent viewings of the tapes should be cached)
Justin.

I have NB6 MP4 on Solaris.
In the past (NB5.0), when I wanted to load a tape created in one media
server's robot and load it into a standalone drive on another media
server, I had to run a bpmedia command in order move the media from one
server's mediaDB to the other's. Then the tape would be

you have run out of scratch tapes or your tape library is not big enough
for what you are trying to backup.

We've used the Windows admin console with a Solaris master server for
years. Since v4 through v6.
We put the Windows PC's host name in as a server on the Solaris master and
media servers.

HCART2 does not equal LTO2.
HCART is just an abbreviation for 1/2 inch cartridge
the 1, 2, and 3 is just to differentiate between different media formats
in your library.
In my environment, since I don't have any LTO3 media, but ALL LTO2
media, and my drives are a mix of LTO2 and LTO3, I

I prefer to do my tape cleaning manually, so I've setup the NO_TAPEALERT touch

The touch file NO_TAPEALERT in /usr/openv/netbackup does not appear to be

Well I am down to 75 tapes now. And this is what seems to be the

database. I have shut down services, rebooted all servers, and this is
