Gidday, what we do for our EOM backups is do a separate tape copy that grabs its tapes from our EOM volume pool. Admittedly, its time consuming ... but its worked perfectly for us for 3+ years now (and that's for two separate synthetic backups every weekend - and this puts both onto one set of tapes) I should add that we do have Vault ... I don't know if that makes much difference. Hope that helps.
