The netbackup 7.x os software compatibility list reports that they support
windows 2008 R2 clients.
I believe they also support 6.5.x but you may need an eeb.

Actually look for fixes for the following error, seem to be a known issue,
but
with Ed here - G7 are super machines, and strongly and highly
recommended for Windows !
