Hi Simon,
Works fine, lasts a long time. You may notice some degradation in throughput on
individual VM’s as opposed to physical servers but nothing a little careful
scheduling can’t get you around. I really like the idea that my offsite backups
are vmdk’s which can be restored and hooked up
Hi,
I would like to share with all of you a very strange problem with a windows
2003 server. Whenever the server is rebooted, its netbackup server registry
entries change.
Have anyone faced this kind of problem. Please help.

Thanks,

Hi Saran
If this is one Server that is causing the problem, then it could be
corrupt registry.
I have seen this issue before, but for the life of me, cannot find the
article about it. Is there any 3rd party software that prevents changes
to the registry at all?

Hey All,
Hopefully someone can answer this one nice and quickly for me...
With VCB troubleshooting, I'm used to looking in the bpfis logs for the
contents of the VCB logging file (written in with a prefix of
onlfi_freeze_fim_fs after the Netbackup specific log entries).

I am trying to configure a BE agent in NBU OpsCenter. The agent software is
installed on the OpsCenter server, the agent is configured, and the data

Never mind…I just didn’t look at the agent closely… my client had the agent
pointed to the BE servers, not the OpsCenter server. As soon as I changed that
and just had the data collectors under it we were all good.

The cleaning process is pretty simple. I haven't even really found a
need to look at it since initial install.
the NBU image cleanup is what frees up the backup image files via OST.
The daily cleanup on the DD then cleans up the compressed fragments that
