I have come across issues with our disk staging units as well, but it is not
fragmentation...
out of two media servers, only one presents the symptom of de-staging slowing
down.
System A - Master Server, Solaris 10 Sparc, 2x DSU's (each 4x 4+1 FC attached
SATA disks) formatted VXVM/VXFS.
good morning,
I am Interested in asking the community thier opinions for what hardware
platform works best for master only netbackup servers.
We currently are running our master in a master media configuration (with two
additional media servers) and it is time to refresh the master server
Very interesting
Regardless of cost, I have a similar setup with a T2000 and 10Gbe.
Can you tell me about any system tweaks, in particular TCP ?
Are you using jumbo frames for example ?

Jerald,
Thank you, I had been puzzled by that behaviour in our environment, just
never knew it was a feature. Guess I should read MORE manuals.

We have dev db servers that routinely get refreshed from the prod db,
so we have the altnames setup so the dev servers can only restore images

I previously (pre 6.x) had this set to a couple of weeks it may have
even been a month.
Never had any issues with it, although I do aknologe the java gui did

If you are using VBR under 6.5 (I never ran 6.0, it may be the same) The

Utilising disk mirroring, I have always found this the best

Good evening,
I have another NBU 6.5 Question,
I have just completed my 5.1 to 6.5 upgrade, no real drama's with the

I am monitoring the progress of the scheduled backups to see how much
carnage there is.

not show up SAP backups.
