compress almost totally depends on the kind of data.
Try using Windows send to compressed folder or 7Zip to see what we're talking

Thanks cpreston, ive been trawling through the release notes, admin guide etc
and also Google but there doesnt seem to be anything which would give me a
specific ratio but i'll take it as standard compression but wish the Symantec
doc's were a little more detailed.

Standard compression ratio rules apply. Your mileage may vary, but it's
typically going to be 1.5:1 to 2:1 or so.
