Hi James, I opened a case with Symantec on this exact issue. 1. we bpduplicate data from tape1 (old) to tape2 (lto-4) 2. we expire the old tape, tape2 is promoted to the primary copy. That is how it should work. Justin. On Mon, 21 Sep 2009, James Osbourn wrote: > I am running a script to dupl

[Veritas-bu] EMM Database Relationships

Hi All, Does anyone know or have the relationships between the 69 different tables in the EMM database. If for example 101 is the key for the master server, what other tables need to be updated if that servers key is changed? ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Patrick

Hi Justin, My scenario is slightly different in that I am duplicating to disk storage first before writing to lto4. We tell bpduplicate to set the new copy to primary. The problem I had was that copy one (source) went to copy 2 (disk) which went to copy 3 (lto4 tape). Copy 2 was expired by the

No, I am still in 6.5.3.1 and aware about 6.5.3 NDMP broken patch. That part seems straightforward. Configure it as a normal (physical) robot, and configure a media manager STU for it. Let's say I created Robot and few drives on VTL and now I need to assing it to some media server. Which Ser

I wish it were more explicit on the line about "The VTL must have the NDMP capabiliteis neede to support NDMP direct copy." Well what capabilities would that be? I'm afraid unless the VTL vendor says this should work with their unit, I would be suspicious of it. I don't have any VTLs that this w

first, go to Hardware Compatibility List and check model and software version of VTL you are using. Most Sun/STK VTL allow NDMP direct copy with VTL in shared drive mode, which means you need SSO. Read NDMP admin guide for details on how to configure.also look for documentation updates fo

I think I know what mistake I did and will give another try next week. I have not assigned VTL drives to NDMP Media Server and that's why the wizard did not configure VTL storage Unit. -Original Message- From: veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu [mailto:veritas-bu-boun...@mailman
