NetBackup does not differentiate between images on disk versus images on tape.
They are all just images to it. If the data you request resides on tape, NBU
will generate a tape mount request automatically.
As for the date thing, NBU will, by default, go back to the most recent full

In the Windows BAR GUI the default view is the colored dots timeline. I've
noticed in this view sometimes that it does not show all the images. I
switch it to the 'listing' view by deselecting the timeline option under
View>Show NBU History as a Timeline and I get everything I'm expecting.

Well, you did not ask a question, but made a statement.
So, can I assume you what to know why?
I hate the dots, because if the backup did not go active until after midnight
(the next day) then you have to pick some dots from the day you want and some
dots from the next day to actually get a com

The 7.0.1 java administration console displays time in activity monitor in 12

We are looking to change our backups to a disk based deduplication
solution, and 2 of our options are to utilize NetBackup 7.0's built in

Remember that the built in de-dup as a limit on the amount of data it can keep
track of.
Over that amount you need to use a de-dup appliance.

Data domain also has a limit to the amount of data one of their units
can track but its fairly high. If you need more than 32TB of deduped
data in PD you do need to deploy a seperate puredisk environment. Then
PD just splits the hash space into chunks and stores data on whichever
node it hases to.

To give some background to our environment. We have about 375 clients, mostly
Windows with some UNIX/Linux thrown in. About half of the clients are VMs.
Currently they are backed up as if they were physical machines, but we are
looking to move towards using the vStorage API to do VM backups.
