Hi all,

We have a solaris 10 VCS host running vxvm 5.0 mp1 and we have 1 user
who is not showing his correct quota.

Here is the output of vxrepquota:

# /opt/VRTS/bin/vxrepquota -v /export/data/home | egrep
"/dev|Block|User|user1"
/dev/vx/dsk/datacorpdg/home (/export/data/home):
                     Block limits File limits
User used soft hard timeleft used soft
hard timeleft
user1 -- 26358912 28311552 78643200 9229 0
0

As you can see, he's using about 26GB. The trouble is, du shows he is
only using 9.1 GB. If we delete/chown all of his files his quota drops
to 16 GB:

# /opt/VRTS/bin/vxrepquota -v /export/data/home | egrep
"/dev|Block|User|user1"
/dev/vx/dsk/datacorpdg/home (/export/data/home):
                     Block limits File limits
User used soft hard timeleft used soft
hard timeleft
user1 -- 16777216 28311552 78643200 0 0
0

Which is were the problem lies.

It is only this 1 user for whom quotas are not working properly. I'm
inclined to do a reboot, or a remount, but that will be an outage. We
have searched and searched and cannot find where this extra usage is
coming from. This is the only filesystem on our cluster which has
quotas on. It is part of a disk group which has other volumes, but
without quotas enabled.

Is there something which we are missing?

Thankx for any replies.

Greg.
