We always have two dg per sg for oracle. One for archive logs, another for
data-index-redo. We also use emc srdf, and place each vxdg in individual emc
srdf dg.

nice for srdf/timefinder hotbacups and splitting archive log copies separately
from data/index after tablespaces put in hbkp mode.

I don't see why it wouldn't be supported... Why do you need more than
one DG in resource group ??

It is supported ..at least in SF HA 4.x. At the end of the day a diskgroup
is afterall a resource from a VCS perspective.

we have had this kind of a configuration ..one service group with two
diskgroups. Bascially two databases in one service group. Each database
having its own diskgroup/volumes etc

Ajay

Yes it is supported. Bad design, but supported. Failure of either database will
cause the other to failover.

        Is it?
