Annoying behaviour when using Spaces Versions...

2008-10-22 Thread Frank Mantek

I normally do things like: Refresh/Submit in Versions and switch to
another app, like email. I want to go back to Versions after a while,
but for now i just want to have Versions in the background do it's
thing.

When Version finishes though it takes focus again, becomes active, so
that Spaces switches back to Versions while i am reading a news bite.

Very irritating.

svn ignore not working?

2008-10-22 Thread jamiepeloquin

Hi

I just found the Get Info method of using svn:ignore in Versions,
however it does not seem to be working. I have a directory in the tree
named xserve and within that a slew of files that I just do not want
updated. I set the xserve directory to svn:ignore *, this should
ignore everything within xserve, correct? When that didn’t work, I
set xserve’s parent directory to svn:ignore xserve. This is also not
working, and Versions wants to continue updating the xserve
directory. To circumvent this, I have locked the xserve directory to
prevent Versions from modifying it. Is anyone else finding Versions to
ignore svn:ignore?

Thanks,
Jamie

Re: when's the new beta coming?

2008-10-22 Thread tazz_ben

Looks great. Again, could we find out how much this is going to be
when you release? Maybe you could even do pre-orders and help your
cash flow.

I just started using versions a week ago, I think it is very

curious when is next beta coming?

Or even better, when's the official release coming out? If the price
is reasonable I'd be pretty interested in getting a license. Even if
the official release is not due yet, I hope you'll get out a new beta,
since switching back to any other SVN client would feel like
downgrading.

Thanks for the update!

2008-10-22 Thread Quinn Taylor
It seems that the email traffic has slowed up enough to allow you to
do what you do best. Just wanted to say thanks for the updated beta—
it's great to know that y'all are still working hard on Versions. It's
certainly a very convenient part of my workflow, and I recommend it
regularly. Judging by the lack of frantic emails, it appears that your
users have begun to trust that you won't allow a lapse between
expiration and a new beta. Thanks again!

Re: Another vote for branch/tag/merge

2008-10-22 Thread Kilian Hann

+1
Is there any client for mac which supports this?
Or what are the alternatives (even a completely different repository
layout) to support different branches?

Without these, I'm stuck using the command line.

With merge (in 1.4 anyway), putting in some type of merge tracking
(even if it's just scanning the logs for a copy command) would really
push versions far, far beyond other clients.

How can I download beta 9?

2008-10-22 Thread winston

Hi,

My beta 8 has expired and it keeps showing me a screen that says Beta
Expired.
But when I click on the Check Updates button, it says my current
version 1.0b8/44 is the latest version available.

Even when I try to re download from versionapps.com, it's still
downloading the 1.0b8 version.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Re: Annoying behaviour when using Spaces Versions...

2008-10-22 Thread David C. Zentgraf

+1 for this issue, very annoying.
A Transmit style dock icon with tiny upload/'download/finished
badge would be great.

 Very irritating.

Yeah, I agree that this is irritating. A better solution would be if
the icon in the dock would notify me about completion (or rather in
the spirit of how the iCal and Mail dock icons update Versions should
change the dock icon to indicate what its doing and revert back when
 its done).

 regards,
 Lukas
