Re: Versions keeps asking me to authenticate

2008-11-18 Thread danielwsmithee

I am having the same issue. It only showed up for me when I installed
the latest update which for me happened to be from 1.0B9 to 1.0.1. It
prompts me for authentication every 5-10 minutes like it is polling my
subversion server and it doesn't have the correct authentication. I
can however list, commit, checkout with no problems and I do not need
to authenticate.

I tried to post a comment with the contact us form on the website and
it appears to be broken.

This is definately not solved in the 1.0(.1) release.

Mark's tip below about changing the permissions/ownership of the

 this bug disappears..

I am ot using this.

I am not using his.

Done that

  and reset up your repositories.

Delete all bookmarks in versions?
And create a new bookmark, and checking out all work again?
Yes, now it doesn't ask me to reauthenticate every 5 seconds.

But this isn't fixing, this is like reformatting and starting from
scratch when something in your computer is broken.
This is not the way I do prefer to handle broken thinks.
A more detailed approach, to repair the thing that is really broken in
this case, would be appreciated.

I just started using versions, and it appears to be a great tool.
However, it keeps asking for my password everywhere.

Re: Versions keeps asking me to authenticate

2008-11-17 Thread Mack

I experienced the same thing and found that the problem was that I had
incorrect permission for the .subversion folder.
After I changed ownage of the .subversion folder, everything worked
fine.

When in your home directory, type the following and change username
to your username and group to the group name your user is a member
of (usally staff):

# chown username:group -R .subversion

Versions keeps asking me to authenticate

2008-11-05 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Versions was working great for like a month and then one day it
started asking me to authenticate myself every time I go into a new
folder in my repository. I tried deleting the bookmark and readding,
didnt help. I tried deleting my .subversion directory and
reinstalling versions, didnt help. The only thing strange about my
setup is that I am not installing versions into the systems
applications folder, just an Applications folder under my home
directory. My computer is locked down, so I dont have permissions to
install it. Is there anything else I can try? Or anything I can send
along to you guys? I really love Versions, and use it almost every
day now.

Thanks,
Chris
