Re: online reg form VAT and coupon problem

2008-11-18 Thread Sofa

Hey guys I looked into this and I think I fixed the issue. Could you
try again?

Jools, can you email me (google wouldn't tell your email) and I'll
send you an extra coupon code.

Just a heads-up regarding the online registration form. Two things:

  1) Entering my valid EU-VAT reg. no. correctly removes the VAT (the
form says not applicable) from the registration form and total.
However, after clicking process, the VAT shows up again on the paypal
  page.

  2) My coupon in the mail shows with a red cross. This was the case to
begin with, then it appeared correctly once, now always red. Possibly
this is as a result of aborting the payment process because of the
included VAT above. I mailed you separately regarding the coupon
  number if it requires resetting.

Thanks for taking a look and keep up the good work.

Yes, you fixed it - it works just fine now.

Jools, can you email me (google wouldn't tell your email) and I'll

My coupon code works again too so no need for that extra mail and I
have just purchased with discount and without VAT and registered
successfully: it tells me I rock - you do too!

Thank you for fixing it so quickly.

Re: online reg form VAT and coupon problem

2008-11-18 Thread gemmazoejones

Its my understanding that VAT is charged as per the country of origin.
Hence, when you get things from Jersey, etc., you pay less or no VAT.
Am I right or completely hallucinating?...

 Hi,

Just a quick question. I noticed that the VAT added according to the
 order page:

19% Value Added Tax (VAT) will be applied to your order. If you have
a VAT number, enter it above to buy tax-free.

I'm purchasing as an individual not on behalf of a company with a VAT
#. I'm simply curious about the 19%. Isn't VAT 17.5% for the UK even
 as part of the EU?

Yep, you pay the local rate.

If you are VAT registered you either don't pay the VAT or pay and then
reclaim back the full amount (that you actually paid whatever the rate)

No, you pay the VAT for the country of the company you are purchasing
from, hence why when purchasing things from the channel islands you
pay no VAT.
