It’s about time you came out of Lurk mode. Haven’t heard from you in a long

[VFB] Denny Conrad

2014-12-19 Thread Allan Fish
Here was one of our favorite stories: How many fly tyers does it take
to put up a storm door?

Denny was going to put it up by himself. Fortunately (or
unfortunately), there were several helpers who stayed an extra day after
everyone else had gone home from the Sowbug Roundup. The cast of
characters included Larry Fulkerson, Larry Todrank, Tony (the only one
with the right to be there, since it was his door), Everett Hall, and
myself (behind the camera). Everett (Buck) used to be on VFB, but I
think has since dropped out. The two Larrys are neighbors of mine.

Denny told us it only took him a little over twice the time to install
the door than it normally would have. And to top it off, after all of
us had left (including Denny), Tony had to take the handle off and
reinstall it correctly! g

Hope the picture comes through.

Allan

Re: [VFB] Denny Conrad - A tribute from Jimmy D and Jeff Hines

2014-12-19 Thread Chuck Alexander
I agree. I only made it to “Star” rank, but it was some of the best times of my
life. Jimmy . You probably know of both the “Little River Canyon” and the HUGE
“Jamboree” they had here each year out at Ft. McClennan right?? Those were my
favorite camping times of the year. Now that I think about it, I am almost
positive they had trout fishing at Little River canyon, which is less that 100
miles from me now. Mayne I should look it up and try to go on a trout fishing
outing there. Chuck
