[VFB] RE-POST: New FOTD Matlacha Island Theme Streamers- Finals

2017-03-03 Thread DonO
Hopefully got rid of the album photo format.

Renee,

I’ve named this streamer ‘Matlacha Rainbow’. ;o)

Wing: (10)
2 Fl. Green Barred. 2 Fl. Orange, 2 Fl. Pink,
Plus 2 shorter Purple barred & 2 Fl. blue

Cheeks: (8)
2 Peacock neck fans each side (4),
2 green peacock body fans,
2 Jungle cock body spears
= 18 feathers, and all the colors play in.

Body: Silver braid, colored with yellow, pink, and blue hiliters.

The belly fibers are buck-tail- yellow, orange, pink, and dark pink.

Tip 1:
It really helps to use ‘Wing Things’ to build the wings and cheeks. Getting 10
wing feathers to marry closely is very hard if tying them right on the hook one
at a time. So I mate them first in a Wing Thing-
(http://www.fantasyflies.com/streamers.php). (Also find it on Darren’s
Streamers 365)
Same with the cheeks, I experimented for a while with many cheek-feather
combinations in Wing Things to come up with a good complimentary cheek,
over-laying each design over the wing to test it. I may take one cheek set-up
and overlay it over 10 different wing-sets to see how it looks on different
color schemes.

Tip 2: Experiment with the right side of the wing and cheek first, then when
you get a combo you like, build the left side to match. Less feathers to
handle while designing.

Glad you enjoyed.

I have Wing Things, ver. 2.0 coming soon- an expansion of the technique. Lots
more follow-up tips on wing control using the Wing Thing method.

Cheers,
DonO

Hi DonO,

nice ones. 18 feathers, great. What feathers are these?

And glad, that you were not affected from the snow loads and wash outs.

Rene

The colors on this one hit the Matlacha theme well:
(It has 18 feathers and 3 colors of belly fibers)

If anyone wants the recipe, just let me know.

This one really catches the eye.

Starting to get warm enough to go fishing. Who-hoo!
Worst winter here since the mid-80’s.
Lots of collapsed roofs from snow-loads and recently a lot of flooding and
road wash-outs.

[VFB] Fw: Maybe.......just maybe

2017-03-03 Thread DonO
The intelligence is questionable, but here’s my answer on photo inserting vs
album attaching:

Yeah, I think I have it figured out now. Noticed it in my own email post.

Use RICH text format. That will free up the next part, at least in Windows 7.

Each time, use the INSERT/SINGLE PHOTO command and have your curser where you
want the photo. I will print large, so just drag it down to size:

It does not work to cut/paste from the file, or file dragging, at least on my
pc.

Also, I copy/pasted from the photo in the original email to a new spot and it
turned itself into an attachment, something I didn’t notice until after I
posted the mail. I did get a notice that not all photos would show up, so it
must have been referencing the C/P. But then all 3 photos showed up in an
album, automatically by Windows.

Summary: Use only Rich text & Insert/Single Photo when you want a photo in the
text.

Put the curser next to the photo at the right bottom to insert two photos on a
row. If it is bigger than the spot, it will insert into the line below. OK.
Drag reduce the size and it will pop up in the row when it gets small enough to
be there.

Don’t move photos around after inserting them. I think the email loses the
insert link and creates the album.

Hope this helps. I don’t know if it’s the same in all software and versions.

I’d like to learn if the photo is re-sizable when you open up the email on your
ends with your programs. If you click on the photo, it should box out and show
drag points on corners and midpoints. Drag to enlarge to see finer details.

Alan,

DonO posted some pictures. But they were not attachments. They were in
his e-mail.

Maybe.just maybe if you start an e-mail, copy your pictures,
paste them in the body, and then finish the e-mail, they might come
through. Give it a whirl.

And if it doesn't work, contact DonO and ask him how he did on his first
two streamer e-mails and what did he do differently the third time.
Notice he failed the last time, we just got a reference to his Olympus
picture.

Don, any intelligence you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Al
