Don,
interesting vehicle. Is there a little creek inside, and you can fish
(maybe limited to 6 ft, class 3 rods) without even opening the doors?
Imagine, driving on the Autobahn and playing a nice trout without
leaving the comfort of the air condition! That's a real 'fishing van'.
Anyway, I stick with my Mercedes Benz G
Best wishes to WY

I think my Silverado is a proven fishing car, with it's Sat radio, back
seat, cap, heat and air, 16.2 MPG for 1800 miles and it can take me to
conclaves at a speed faster than the Mass Pike cops think it's traveling
at during the early morning hours when I leave and return. Valentine
makes the best detector made, usually I get trouble in small towns I
don't know about, but occasionally on the highways.

If you do 24-29 hours from Boston to Mountain Home you are at risk for
a ticket.

Also, a sweet machine is a 3 series BMW wagon, early 2000's nice, sweet
to own and in a pinch a great fishing car, I've tracked and fished from
mine in the same day!

Re: [VFB] My new fishing vehicle...

2010-03-22 Thread Don Ordes
C'mon, Peggy
Live a little. There's only going to be a hundred of these made and they're
only $310,000.00 each.
That's a steal!

Look what-all they've got:

Inspired by the Gurkha military vehicle, the KNIGHT XV is an ultra-luxurious
handcrafted, bio-fuel powered fully armored SUV. [That's right! It's a GREEN
MACHINE!]

The KNIGHT XV is powered by a V10, 6.8-litre engine and sits on a super duty
Ford modified platform chassis. It provides 400 hp and 498-ft lbs of torque.

The KNIGHT XV is priced at $310,000 USD. Only 100 will be made available as a
limited first run. Each vehicle takes 1,500 hours to build by hand.

The KNIGHT XV offers interior appointments including Wilton Wool luxury
carpeting; Andrew Muirhead leather; 6-way electric leather boardroom-style
seating; Tandem sunroof glass with privacy shades; Personal side-mounted lap
top stations; LED cabin lighting; Alpine AM, FM, CD, DVD navigation and
Bluetooth equipment; TV Monitors; Night vision and rear op camera system and
Playstation 3 (PS3). The cabins 283-cubic-foot interior is larger than the
interior of most SUVs on the road today and can comfortably seat six
professional basketball players.

The KNIGHT XV is built using ballistic hardened steel making it fully armored
including ballistic fiberglass fenders, bumper and up to 64 mm. (2.5 inches)
transparent armor (glass).

The KNIGHT XV is 240 in length [20 ft.!], 98 in width with a ground clearance
of 14 and stands at 100. Its wheelbase is 141 and has an armoured curb weight
of 10,000 pounds. The vehicle holds 40 gallons of fuel and sits on four,
LT40X13.50R20 Mickey Thompson Baja Radial ATZ tires with ballistic run flats.

Additionally, the KNIGHT XV contains an E-85 Ethanol conversion system (Flex
Fuel) with California emission certification, thereby making it certified in
all 50 States.

And a cool mileage of 1L/KM! That's 2.3 mpg!

So show up at the Sowbug in style next year. ;o)
You won't have to stop for those pesky ticketers, either. Just every gas
station.
