Some good fisheries in all this corn, but I have to drive for 6-8 hours to fish
for trout. Trolling in Lake Michigan just doesn’t cut it for me

Have you trolled with flys?
They work great here in the High Sierra desert.
When I have to go deep, I add 15-30 ft of lead core before my leader and
this takes the fly down to the fish (unless they are 30 ft or more down).

Bloomington Illinois. No trout, but lots of corn. Well, actually some trout,
the lake in the central city park gets stocked in the spring, but they don't
last very long.
