thanks for the purple squirrel-tail.  It must have lived in New Orleans at 
Mardi-Gras time.  LOL
Now I will have to try some 'Perpul Peruls' with Purpil Squirwul.  Yes, 
rope-dubbed, gap-roped, hackle-roped- all will be tried.

And the answer is yes, I hve roped many steelhead and salmon flies using 
ice-dub, seal, syn-seal, polar bear, and synthetics.  I usually tie them up for 
shows for the give-aways for fly plates and contributions, etc.

I'll send a package back for you to try.
