Thanks, Chuck. For the past few years I have been buying expensive SA textured
lines because they are so supple and tangle free. In the last year or so
they’ve been tough to get. Turns out someone did a study that showed that the
sound a textured line made when stripping through the guides
I stand corrected. The Orvis I bought IS Made in the USA. That’s worth a LOT

The very cheap line is likely Chinese made. Are they both weight forward lines
or both double tapers? You can’t really compare if they are not the same. For
floating lines, it remains to be seen if they continue to float after normal
use. It is not casting
