Well,
now I think I'm really an old fart. Found the last fly of the swap, Allan
your fly is here! She did hide herself .. where could a fly hide herself ??
... behind a vise. I was de-dusting some of the rare used ones, and found a
little bag with Allan's griffith's gnat.
Did a pic, now the old farter homepage is full..

For all those who have not yet received their Old Fart Swap flies,
you're in for a really great treat.

But there are at least two in that mix that make me wonder if they
are really qualified to have been in the swap.

Tony Spezio's un-named L.B.F. and John Bennett's Royal Wulff are both
so tiny that no qualified Old Fart could see to tie the bloody things!

They both made my measly size 20 Griffiths Gnat look like a giant!

And the fly names are exceptional too. CRS Special was my favorite.

Can't Remember why, though;-)

RULES for OLD FART SWAP Ê

Tie a fly of your own design, or whatever. ÊType of fly - trout, salmon, salt,
panfish, etc.Ê Size of fly is up to you. ÊTime frame for flies to me would be
February 1, with the usual toe tags, (little tags with name of fly and your
name and email address), and return postage packaging or pre-stamped return
package. ÊYou may also pass along the pattern and materials list.

HOW MANY FLIES TO TIE ?? At this point, with 25 in the swap, you would tie 24
flies to send to me. It'll always be one fly below the total number, cause you
don't need to tie one for yourself.

One last thing I request is for you to let me know the name of your Old Fart
Fly. ÊAny questions, please contact me OFF LIST.

If we we going to tie small flies, I will tie my original Tuft
Emerger on a sz 20 Scud Hook if that is OK.
Tony

 Tpny,

The way I read the rulse, all us old farts can tie anything we want,
so by definition that is definitely OK.

I dunno, I may tie a size 2 midge! Or a size 24 streamer. Or more
likely something in between. Maybe my bumblebee.

Morning Gang!

Just thinking it's time for me to host another Swap. Those of you who have
participated in one of my 15 previous ones seem to have enjoyed the fun and
frivolity of my Off the Wall swaps.

I've meistered March Madness I II, Colors I II, Retiree, Ham
Radio, Chili Pepper, Eagle Scout, Blues I II, Jody's Courage, Renegade,
Steelhead, Redneck, Murf Memorial.

To make this one really different, I'm thinking of an OLD FART SWAP!  You'll
need to be at least 65 years old before the end of this year, ore thereabout.
The fly you'd tie would be one of your own design, preferably one of your
favorites, fly size up to you.  At this point, I'm just testing the water.
As those of you who have participated in my seaps before already know, there'll
be around 25 participants.  Could be more.  Could be less, depending on the
number of OLD FARTS who can still do a whip finish. :-) ;-) :-P :-D

Time frame for flies to me would be around the first of February, with
the usual toe tags, return postage packaging or pre-stamped return
package.

I look forward to hearing from you OF's who can still tie a fly.

As of 3:15 p.m. CDT, we have 20 signed up for the Old Fart Swap. I'm
inclined to cut it off at 25 tyers, unless you Old Farts think we can tie more.
If I don't hear otherwise, 25 it will be. When we reach 25, I will take the
swap off list except for timely updates that might be of interest to others,
i.e. names of Old Fart Flies, etc. I will also reiterate the Rules, etc. when I

  I vote for a MAX of 25.

(I'd be even happier with cutting it off with the current 20 who have already
signed up)

Put me on the list as interested. I will wait to commit completely until
you post the specifications. I definitely meet the *Old Fart* designation
- I tripped over 70 on August 31.

Chili Pepper, Eagle Scout, Blues I II, Jody's Courage, Renegade,
 Steelhead, Redneck, Murf Memorial.

To make this one really different, I'm thinking of an OLD FART SWAP!
You'll need to be at least 65 years old before the end of this year, ore
thereabout. The fly you'd tie would be one of your own design, preferably
one of your favorites, fly size up to you. At this point, I'm just testing
the water. As those of you who have participated in my seaps before already
know, there'll be around 25 participants. Could be more. Could be less,
depending on the number of OLD FARTS who can still do a whip finish. :-) ;-)
 :-P :-D

*Time frame for flies to me would be around the first of February, with
the usual toe tags, return postage packaging or pre-stamped return
 package.*

I look forward to hearing from you OF's who can still tie a fly.

Does being an AARP member count? Even with my next birthday coming up I'm
still about 4 years to young.
