Hmm, yeah I suppose there is still a lot of interaction with the motherboard as far as device handling/passthrough- could be you maybe had a chipset issue somewhere that would make the CPU hang. There’s also a chance that my new BIOS had a fix unrelated to the microcode that fixed my issues =\ I

For what is worth I upgraded my motherboard to the latest BIOS version available (3101, iirc) which supposedly brings fixes "stability issues". I have then tried to rebuild my previous environment step by step and so far have NOT experienced any issue. I used to use the same intel microcode
