Hmm... my Flip works fine on my Mac with no conversions. Wonder what the difference is? I have very sketchy memories of this ... but I think there's some type of codec that comes on the Flip that you have to install for it to work on a Mac ... but again, not remembering... just know that on both

just to add to this the flip usually plays nice on the mac if you've installed the codec that came on the camera i believe it's the 3ivx codec however it doesn't play or import into iMovie 09 from what i've tried (though it converts great in imovie 06, damnit apple) though i need to update to the

Checking the 3ivx thing - on your Flip, double click the icon to open up the folder, open the System folder, open the Install folder ... and install the macintosh 3ivx installer. There's one for Windows, too - so it works with Windows Movie Maker. That's what I installed to make it work. Just

It's working for me! I think with the added codec, it works fine. At least, I was just able to take a flip video, dump it into iphoto, then open imovie 09 (yes, the new one), in event library click the iPhoto videos, and drag the video into a new project. So somewhere between the Flip codec and

i really don't know what the deal is i can't get any flip clips to be recognized my imovie 09 v.0.8.3 they're in my iphoto and imovie refuses to see them. it brings Xacti Mp4s in fine. i even tried one of David Lee King's clips. i'm updating my flip software from here, so i'll see if that helps
