All, Most wireless microphone suggestions for amateurs list UHF, VHF ($1000's) and these are not real options for example when shooting simple ski videos or simple line-of-sight and less-than-30-feet range work. Something less than $80 for both transmitter receiver would be more on the mark.

Hm...I use a wireless lavalier microphone I bought on eBay that's intended for DJs or people giving presentations. I think I spent $80 on it, and I think it uses FM on one of the commercial bands (not sure, though). It's not perfect, but a little noise gating on the editing console cleans it
