 Is there any trick or tool to capturing footage of a website
 scrolling? I love Verdi's Freevlog tutorials where you follow his
 mouse-pointer around various sites. Is it best just to point your
 camera at your PC's screen, or is there a better way to capture a
 webpage in motion?

SnagIt by TechSmith will do the trick. Free 30 day trial. $40 to buy.
It's a screen capture program that will record screen motion to video,
among other things. It's an astonishingly useful little program.
