Will it have a Flash 8 Player (I hope)?

I like the feature of closing a video when a new link is clicked! I am
looking forward to trying it out as soon as I can!

Right now I'm probably going to have both a Flash 7 player and Flash 8
player download package. So people can choose which player they
prefer for their site. My preference is also for a Flash 8 FLV player
and I think the adoption of it is sufficient to warrant going over.

Thanks!

 video Playing In Place (vPIP) 0.14 Beta is out. The
 installation and usage page is at:

 http://utilities.cinegage.com/videos-playing-in-place/

 Features in this release:

 * Individual embedded movies can be closed from the [X Close]
 button above them.
 * A movie can be specified to run in the ThickBox version of
 LightBox (incorporated in the vpip.js script, no seperate script or
 plugin outside the vPIP package needed.)
 * A list of vpip links can play in one vPIP (hVlog) entry. This
 could be different video formats and/or different movies.
 * New Generate vPIP HTML Code helper app. to specify and generate
 the code for the new 0.14 capabilities. For Wordpress, the code
 generator is below the text box for writing a post. For other
 installations it's under the Using vPIP section at:

 About vPIP
 --
 vPIP (video Playing In Place) dynamically embeds a link video after
 the viewer clicks on the link.

 Web pages load quickly with just image and text links. Then when the
 viewer clicks one of the links, it's replaced with the video. Clicking
 on another link closes the prior video and opens the new one.

 The supported video (and audio) formats are:

 * Quicktime
 o .mov
 o .mp4
 o .mp3 (audio)
 o .smi or .smil
 * Windows Media
 o .avi
 o .wmv
 o .asf
 o .wma (audio)
 * Flash
 o .swf
 --
 For the documentation I've updated all the sections except Detailed
 Usage under the Using vPIP area. I will update that in the next
 few days.

 Let me know how vPIP works for you. And if there's any problems or
bugs.

 vPIP 0.15 will have a Flash FLV Player packaged within for playing FLV
 movie files.

Now I'm really curious... won't the Flash 8 player also handle Flash 7
(MX) files? Why would one need Flash 7 at all? Granted, the adoption
of Flash 8 has not been going all that smoothly, and now there's a
Flash 9 player mentioned by Adobe as coming out soon. It's very
confusing for me as I am putting out Flash 8 videos on my vlogs.

It's a choice. If the the web presenter wants to include those who
have Flash 7 and not yet upgraded, they'd get the Flash 7 package. If
they want to offer the new features of Flash 8 and ask viewers to
upgrade, they'd get the Flash 8 package.
