Talk of vlogstock reminded me of this post a couple of weeks ago - 'The Woodstock of our Generation' (blah blah).
www.barcampusa.org Big event for 5000+ people, August 23-26 2007, Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Jefferson, Wisconsin, USA (capacity 20,000 people). Dean Collins, who posted it, wanted us to represent in force for vlogging and run a videoblogging 'segment'. Perhaps it would be possible to take advantage of the mass organising effort there, and have Vloggercon as a 'splinter group' within the larger event. There'll be all the facilities, and a mass of interested people. I'll be on Vancouver Island, so no good for me, but might be amazing if done right. In August we are going to be holding a 'mega' barcamp running 4 days straight with over 5000+ people. www.BarCampUSA.org It's already being called the Woodstock of our generation. Whilst a lot of the un-conference is going to be around open source and application development there is a group actively bringing a large contingent to meet, discuss and learn about text blogging. Now you know and I know video blogging is really where it's at :) So I'd like to see if we can get an even bigger contingent together to meet about video blogging. I'm hoping that someone on this list steps up to the plate and joins the existing 20-30 core organizers and take on the mantle to run a segment of the camp dealing with all aspects of video blogging. For those interested in attending tickets are available from this Thursday the 1st of February. If you want a bigger challenge......please email me your thoughts.
