Hey Josh, great stuff. Re: [videoblogging] My New Video Project
we messaged every person who created the videos, we explained to them how the videos would be used and they agreed... 65 emails sent out 15 responses, only 1 no that is usually how it goes for each video a lot of foot work but worth it i think and we always link back and include their url in the video itself good topic to bring up! Re: [videoblogging] My New Video Project
I noticed that your halloween episode was a collection of clips from YouTube. Can you talk a bit about how you cleared the copyrights of all these clips? I know many videobloggers feels very strongly about protecting their rights and this has been discussed many times on this list from the other viewpoint. I'm interested in hearing how you as a producer at a commercial network deal with these issues. - Andreas Den 30.10.2007 kl. 11:18 skrev Josh Leo <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Hey there everybody, I know I don't post here as often as I used to, I > guess > I just use twitter more these days... > > But I wanted to let you all know about the video project I have been > working > on for the past 2 months. [videoblogging] My New Video Project
Hey there everybody, I know I don't post here as often as I used to, I guess I just use twitter more these days... But I wanted to let you all know about the video project I have been working on for the past 2 months. Some of you who watch my vlog may have noticed that my video output has slowed a bit over time, so here is my explanation. I have been working on a video show about cute pets! I am a co-editor on Ultra Kawaii (http://www.ultrakawaii.com) It is a show for Next New Networks and I am really excited about it! I have learned a lot in the editing process of the program and have embraced my love for cute animals in a whole new way (heck, I have been doing vlog-cats for about 2 years now) So I would love to hear feedback from you, and if you have any constructive criticism, please send that also! Thanks so much! our new Halloween episode: http://www.ultrakawaii.com/episode/UK_20071029 -- Josh Leo www.JoshLeo.com www.ultrakawaii.com www.WanderingWestMichigan.com www.SlowLorisMedia.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
[videoblogging] My new video obsession....
Hey all Lately my small life has become consumed with making videos on the Facebook. I'm not sure why.. you dont get stats, you cant see who has been watching them, and you don't get an RSS feed. In fact, all you can do is record into the web browser and tag it with your friends names if they are in the video-- you cant even make up your own tags!! But its become a very intimate connector for me. It's like Ruperts Twittervlog, but without the expensive camera and monthly phone plan. Blip.tv used to have a similar feature early-on that only worked in Safari. I remember using it in a similar way, but the Facebook version is really well done and should be abused by all videobloggers! Its strange, but for some reason I enjoy making these sorts of videos this way, but on my personal site I want to make stories in a different way. With the In-Browser Recording, I like to just communicate in an instant messenger sort of way. Does that make sense to anyone else? It's the immediacy of the process that I enjoy (again, it helps me understand why Rupert and Steve get excited about their phones) Anyway, here are the couple I've done: < http://www.facebook.com/video/?id=880965647> I encourage you to make some of your own! Re: [videoblogging] My new video obsession....
Yes, it is so easy and quick. The weekend I bought my MacBook Pro (with built in iSight) I started playing with video on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=510268286366 - prolly can't see unless you're my friend on facebook, feel free to add me). A friend of mine bought a MBP the weekend before me and we found it easy and fun to have a video conversation by tagging each other. It got out of hand a bit and turned into something else that we decided to take off of facebook (http://vlogfight.blogspot.com) because it is a limited viewing environment. I tried to find another more open place to post quick and easy videos but none I found do it as well as facebook. And if the type of video you are making is meant to be more intimate, it works out really well. -- Kary Rogers http://karyhead.com On Jul 6, 2007, at 12:26 PM, schlomo rabinowitz wrote: > Hey all > > Lately my small life has become consumed with making videos on the > Facebook. I am enjoying the video on 'the facebook' a lot. One thing that I noticed, is that I can't get rss out, etcand I was kind of ok with that? Is the heat getting to me, I mean media, locked up behind a login. -- -Devlon http://devlonduthie.com | http://mefeedia.com | http://node-64.com/blog MSN: du.th.ied AIM: devlond -Original Message- From: videoblogging@yahoogroups.com [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rupert Sent: Friday, July 06, 2007 12:34 PM To: videoblogging@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [videoblogging] My new video obsession I started watching earlier today, but got interrupted. Happy Birthday! It's like the iSight was built for you, Schlomo. Very few people could make films as entertaining as that with their MBPs. I bet no one else's MBP iSight videos will get shown at Pixelodeon next year. And it feels different somehow that it's on Facebook... sorry - "the Facebook". Nicer forum for it than just a mass video sharing site or a blog. (that reminds me - I saw on Viddler they're giving away iPhones to people who make 30 second MeToday videos this month.) What you say makes total sense to me - the immediacy and satisfaction of it. It's been low maintenance creative fun for me to snap stuff, cut it occasionally in the phone and just send it off. You only have to worry about what's in front of the camera - you haven't got half your brain in the future, thinking about downloading, compressing, uploading, posting, etc and whether what you're shooting is worth the effort down the line. So it just frees you to just Do Stuff. The little creative muscles need flexing as well as the big ones. Not that mine would be as fun as yours, but I'd love to be able to do it. God DAMN, i wish i could afford a Macbook Pro (the phone i use was a free upgrade btw, and the phone plan is pretty average - all data goes via regular wifi). I am in webcam hell with this Powerbook. The other night i had to use my big old XL1 DV camera as a webcam for the flashmeeting - and then it ran out of battery. And I'd left the power cord somewhere. Anybody have a Powerbook with a webcam that actually works well? With iChat, etc? Care to let me know what it is?? [videoblogging] My New Video
Dear All, I would like to thank, Paul Reynoldson, Ric Landers, Rocketboom, Alternative Kitten and Loiez for helping me to make my latest Video, it's called Paul's Dream and is mostly done under sedation using clips from the above mentioned folks. I hope you like it. http://blip.tv/file/get/Pjkproductions-PaulsDream988.mp4 Paul Do yourself a favour and Visit my Vlog http://pjkproductions.blogspot.com It's worth a laugh and work friendly.
[videoblogging] my new video blog about old home movies
Hiya, I finally have my video blog up and running at www.homemovienight.com. First, it's important that I send endless thanks to freevlog.org without whom I could never have gotten even close to putting this together. Thanks, folks. I hope that the link love I set up helps. :) The video blog is part of a larger project I'm working on that's all about old home movies that people used to shoot from the 20's through the 80's. I'm a big fan of small gauge filmmaking on 8mm, super8, and 16mm, and through this video blog I hope to share some of the films that I've found in thrifts, people's basements, etc. I hope that I have everything set up right, and would appreciate any advice or tips that you may have. I know that I've got a bit to go as far as designing a more customized website, tweaking some of the info coming from feeds, etc. For now I just wanted to have something up and running that works - at least I hope it does. If you care to check it out, you can go over to www.homemovienight.com to watch my first 4 minute intro video. Thanks for your time, and I hope that those of you who watch the video will find something to enjoy. -- Bohus Blahut (BOH-hoosh BLAH-hoot) modern filmmaker Yahoo!
